...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 PM CDT THIS 

AFTERNOON FOR DENTON, JOHNSON, EASTERN PARKER AND TARRANT COUNTIES...



At 1116 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 

thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 

0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Light to moderate rain will 

continue for the next couple of hours. Flash flooding is ongoing or 

expected to begin shortly.



HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.



SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.



IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,

         highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other poor

         drainage and low lying areas.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, Grand Prairie, Carrollton, 

  Frisco, Denton, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Mansfield, Euless, 

  Bedford, Grapevine, Haltom City, Keller, Coppell, Hurst, Burleson 

  and The Colony.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
