...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM EDT THIS EVENING...



* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 

  rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...A portion of east central Kentucky, including the 

  following counties, Bath, Fleming, Menifee, Montgomery and Rowan.



* WHEN...Until 645 PM EDT.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 1252 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will

    cause urban and small stream flooding. Up to 1.5 inches of

    rain have fallen already, mostly in parts of Montgomery and

    Bath Counties.

  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2.5 inches are expected

    over the area this afternoon into the early evening. This

    additional rain will result in minor flooding.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Mount Sterling, Morehead, Flemingsburg, Owingsville,

    Marshall, Jeffersonville, Camargo, Sharpsburg, Salt Lick,

    Fairview, Wyoming, Grange City, Slate Valley, Peasticks,

    Oakley, Craigs, Odessa, Polksville, Moore's Ferry and

    Hillsboro.





PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 

enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
