...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the 

  following county, Charleston.



* WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight.



* IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams 

  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. 

  Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 306 PM EDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in

    the warned area due to thunderstorms resulting in flooding

    conditions. Over the past 30 hours, between 6 and 10 inches

    of rain have fallen across the warned area.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Edisto Beach, Johns Island,

    West Ashley, James Island, Downtown Charleston, Fort Sumter,

    Hollywood and Folly Beach.





PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.
