A broad upper-level trough will promote deep-layer southwesterly

flow over the Southern Rockies, supporting dry and breezy conditions

across portions of New Mexico into the Southern High Plains on

Thursday, where 40 percent critical probabilities have been

introduced. Thereafter, the upper-level trough will slowly progress

east through the remainder of this week into early next week.

Surface high pressure and associated cooler surface conditions will

spread across much of the south-central U.S., resulting in quiescent

fire weather conditions for the remainder of the forecast period.
