At 935 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts

were located along a line extending from 6 nm southeast of Whitefish

Point to 23 nm southeast of Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Light to 10 nm

west of Big Sable Point Light, moving east at 35 knots.



HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to nearly 50 knots, and small hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

         hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

         higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



Locations impacted include...

Empire, Point Betsie, Glen Arbor, Pierport, Portage Lake, North

Manitou Island, Arcadia, Sleeping Bear Point, Leland, Pyramid Point,

Williamsport, Manistee, South Manitou Island, Frankfort, Cat Head

Point, and Manistee Light.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 AM EDT for northern

Michigan...and the adjacent waters of Lake Michigan.



Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are

expected.
