Sleeping Bear Point to Grand Traverse Light MI...



At 1020 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts

were located along a line extending from 18 nm west of South Manitou

Island to Point Betsie to near Manistee, moving east at 35 knots.



HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to 40 knots, and small hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

         hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

         higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



Locations impacted include...

Arcadia, Sleeping Bear Point, Manistee Light, Empire, Point Betsie,

Glen Arbor, Pierport, Portage Lake, Williamsport, Manistee, South

Manitou Island, and Frankfort.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 AM EDT for northern

Michigan...and the adjacent waters of Lake Michigan.



Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are

expected.
