####018003220#### FNUS63 KABR 081121 RFDABR Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Aberdeen SD Issued by National Weather Service Sioux Falls SD 621 AM CDT Thu May 8 2025 .DISCUSSION... A light southerly wind will persist through mid-morning. By mid-day winds will begin to focus a bit more west of Highway 281, with a rather light and variable wind developing over portions of the upper Coteau. Relative humidity values are expected to fall between 25 and 30 percent throughout central and northeastern South Dakota. A weak frontal boundary will enter the area early Friday morning, slowly pushing southeast through the day. The passage of this front may lead to fairly chaotic and light surface winds at times through mid-day. However, by the afternoon areas along and northwest of a line from Pierre to Aberdeen should see winds shift to the north northeast and increase in speed. Relative humidity values will again fall below 30%. The passage of the aforementioned front will leave winds turning back to the southeast on Saturday. Sustained winds between 15 and 20 mph will develop west of Highway 281 once again in the afternoon as low relative humidity again develops. Elevated fire danger will develop Sunday through Tuesday as strong southerly winds as high as 40 mph develop. Temperatures surge towards the lower 90s at times, with relative humidity values near 15 percent. Local fine fuel moistures will drive overall fire danger severity.
