Mostly dry today with a chance for a few afternoon showers and

thunderstorms across southwestern SD. Highs will be in the 60s to

low 70s with afternoon RHs ranging from 30 to 50%. Winds will be

from the east at 10 to 15 mph, gusting up to 25 mph. Showers and

storms are possible Sunday afternoon with widespread wetting

precip expected Sunday afternoon through Monday night.

The grassland fire danger index will reach the low category this 

afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture 

content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,

indicate that the probability of a fast moving fire is low.

Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be performed 

with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored.



The outlook for Sunday afternoon, The grassland fire danger index

will reach the low category.
