.DISCUSSION...Expect sunny skies today with warm temperatures. 

High temperatures will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Winds 

will be southeast at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph. A few

gusts to 50 mph will be possible over far northwest SD. Relative 

humidities will drop to 20 to 30 percent this afternoon.

The grassland fire danger index will reach the high category this

afternoon. Unfavorable weather conditions and low moisture 

content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,

indicate that there is high potential for a fire to spread. 

Outdoor burning should be restricted to early morning 

or evening hours when wind speeds are usually lower and the 

relative humidity is higher.



The outlook for Monday afternoon, The grassland fire danger index

will reach the low category to high category.

the ground, indicate that there is some potential for a fire
