...A SPECIAL AVALANCHE ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4:30 PM THURSDAY 

UNTIL 4:30 PM SUNDAY...



*WHAT... it is very easy for people to trigger large and deadly 

avalanches through the weekend



*WHERE... Park Range, Flat Tops, Medicine Bow Mountains, Never 

Summer Mountains, Gore Range, Front Range, Grand Mesa, West Elk and 

Elk Mountains, and Sawatch Range at all elevations



*WHEN... dangerous avalanche conditions last through the weekend



*IMPACTS... Large and dangerous avalanches will be easy to trigger 

at all elevations



*PRECAUTION/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Travel in backcountry avalanche 

terrain requires cautious route finding to stay safe. Avoid travel 

on and under slopes with a slope angle steeper than about 30
