AVALANCHE ADVISORY FOR THE MOUNTAINS OF COLORADO



* TIMING...In effect until Midnight Sunday, December 13. 



* AFFECTED AREAS...Portions of the CAIC Aspen and Gunnison 

  Zones...Ruby Range...and West Elk Mountains...Areas from Kebler 

  Pass, Paradise Divide through the Ragged Range near Marble...  

  



* AVALANCHE DANGER...The avalanche danger is Considerable, level 3 

  of 5. Large and dangerous human-triggered avalanches are likely. 

  Large and dangerous natural avalanches are possible. 

  



* REASON...Heavy snow and strong winds on a very weak snowpack. 



* PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Avoid travel on and under 

  steep north through northeast to east-facing slopes where you find 

  More than 10 inches of new or recently wind-drifted snow.
