…SPECIAL AVALANCHE BULLETIN IN EFFECT FROM 5:30 PM FRIDAY UNTIL 4:30 PM SUNDAY…



*WHAT… The avalanche danger remains elevated after a potent storm with heavy snow 

and strong winds created very dangerous avalanche conditions. The avalanche danger 

is CONSIDERABLE (Level 3 of 5) across much of the state.



*WHERE… All mountain areas with more than two to three feet of snow.



*WHEN… Dangerous avalanche conditions will continue through Sunday at 4:30 PM.



*IMPACTS… Avalanches will be easy to trigger. Very large and destructive avalanches 

can occur on northerly and easterly facing slopes at upper elevations.



*PRECAUTIONARY / PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Careful snowpack evaluation, cautious 

route-finding, and conservative decision-making is essential. Avoid large northerly 

and easterly facing avalanche paths. You can find more detailed information at
