High Elevation Glacier Park Forecast

National Weather Service Missoula MT

232 AM MDT Thu Apr 10 2025

.SYNOPSIS...A ridge of high pressure will build over the Northern

Rockies today allowing for significant warming. Model soundings

and high resolution guidance suggest continued high cirrus cloud

coverage of about 50% during times of high sun angle. Expect

increasing cloud cover and moderate southwest winds on Friday

ahead of an incoming low pressure system on Saturday. This system

will bring the potential of significant snow as snow levels drop

to around 3000 feet. The road above The Loop has about a 60%

chance of receiving over 0.50 inches of water equivalent in 24

hours ending Sunday night, and about a 10% chance of over 1 inch.

There is still uncertainty involved in the track of this system,

so these amounts will likely change as we get closer to the

weekend.
