Overcast skies this morning will become scattered with less than 50% cloud cover after noon. A fast-moving shortwave will bring some chances for a dusting of light snow early this morning. Expect gusty southwest ridgetop winds to increase to about 25-30 mph this afternoon and evening. Cloud cover will continue to decrease overnight tonight before increasing again by early Saturday morning ahead of an approaching low pressure system and associated cold front. Model guidance has been trending drier with this system. Although snow levels will drop to about 4000 feet, chances for an inch or more of water equivalent in 24 hours ending Sunday evening is only about 10%. Winds turn westerly behind the cold front on Saturday afternoon, gusting to about 25-35 mph.
