* Special Marine Warning for...

  Lake Michigan from Charlevoix to Point Betsie MI 5NM Offshore to

  mid lake...

  Manistee to Point Betsie MI...

  Point Betsie to Sleeping Bear Point MI...

  Sleeping Bear Point to Grand Traverse Light MI...



* Until 1130 PM EDT.



* At 1034 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing

  waterspouts were located along a line extending from 15 nm west of

  South Manitou Island to 9 nm east of Frankfort, moving northeast at

  35 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to 40 knots, and small hail.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Sleeping Bear Point, Northport, Leland, Empire, Point Betsie, Glen

  Arbor, Pyramid Point, South Manitou Island, North Manitou Island,

  Grand Traverse Light, and Cat Head Point.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 AM EDT for northern

Michigan...and the adjacent waters of Lake Michigan.



Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are

expected.
