The National Weather Service in Gaylord has issued a



* Special Marine Warning for...

  Lake Huron from Presque Isle Lt. to Sturgeon Point  MI 5NM off

  shore to US/Canadian border...

  Lake Huron from Sturgeon Point to Alabaster MI 5NM off shore to

  US/Canadian border...

  Presque Isle Light to Sturgeon Pt MI Including Thunder Bay National

  Marine Sanctuary...

  Sturgeon Pt to Alabaster MI...



* Until 230 AM EDT.



* At 106 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing

  waterspouts were located along a line extending from 12 nm west of

  Black River to 15 nm west of Central Lake Huron Buoy, moving north

  at 40 knots.



  HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small 

           hail.



  SOURCE...Radar.



  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally 

           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly 

           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.



* Locations impacted include...

  Tawas Bay, Middle Island, Alpena, Presque Isle Light, East Tawas,

  Greenbush, Sturgeon Point, Central Lake Huron Buoy, Au Sable Point,

  Harrisville, Tawas Point, Black River, South Point, Thunder Bay,

  Northern Lake Huron Buoy, and Oscoda.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 AM EDT for northern

Michigan...and the adjacent waters of Lake Huron.



Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
