...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN HAMILTON COUNTY THROUGH

215 PM EDT...



At 127 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 15

miles west of Lake Pleasant, or 19 miles southwest of Speculator,

moving east at 30 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

Gilmantown, Girards Sugarbush, Lake Pleasant, Perkins Clearing,

Rudeston, West Canada Lakes, Speculator, Lewey Lake Campground,

Caswell Lake, Mountain Home, Sled Harbor, Piseco, Griffin,

Morehouseville, Hoffmeister, Higgins Bay, and Moffitt Beach

Campground.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe

shelter inside a building or vehicle.

eastern and east central New York.
