SITUATION At 1800 UTC a Tropical Low was centred within 40 nautical miles of latitude thirteen decimal seven south (13.7S) longitude one hundred and eighteen decimal five east (118.5E) Recent movement : west at 9 knots Maximum winds : 30 knots Central pressure: 1004 hPa The low is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 36 to 48 hours. AREA AFFECTED Within 60 nautical miles in SW quadrant and within 50 nautical miles in NW quadrant. FORECAST Maximum winds to 30 knots near the centre increasing to 35 knots by 1200 UTC 21 February. From 1200 UTC 21 February winds above 34 knots within 60 nautical miles in SW quadrant and within 50 nautical miles in NW quadrant with very rough seas and moderate swell. Forecast positions At 0600 UTC 21 February: Within 65 nautical miles of 14.3 south 115.9 east Central pressure 1003 hPa. Winds to 30 knots near centre. At 1800 UTC 21 February: Within 70 nautical miles of 14.8 south 113.6 east Central pressure 1000 hPa. Winds to 35 knots near centre.
