Issued at 322 AM CST Mon Dec 29 2025 Gusty/cold northwest winds will linger across the area through much of the day; however, the winds will be lighter than the past 24 hours as the pressure gradient gradually relaxes and the upper-level trough axis drifts east. Wind gusts to around 20-30mph can still be anticipated through most of the day. The probability of gusts over 30 mph or greater drops under 20 percent by 10 am; therefore, the Wind Advisory will be allowed to expire at 12Z. Much colder air has arrived on those cold winds with several locations seeing wind chill readings this morning in the low teens and a few single digit above zero readings. High temperatures will struggle to warm above freezing today (10-20 percent chance) for most locations and will be only slight warmer on Tuesday. Lows tonight will drop down into the teens for most locations. The combination of colder overnight lows and a continued breeze will result in another round of single digit wind chill readings tonight into Tuesday morning (60-90 percent chance). Northwest flow will linger across the Quad State region through much of the rest of the week; however, the flow does flatten to some extent. That will allow temperatures to moderate to more normal/average temperatures from Wednesday through next weekend. That would place highs in the 40s and lows in the mid 20s to low 30s. The next small chance (15-30 percent) of precipitation is forecast for Friday as a low pressure system tries to organize across the Mid South. Depending on how long the precipitation lingers, there could be a light wintry mix across the area Friday evening; however, there are a lot of details that still need to be resolved over the next few days. && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z TUESDAY/...
