...River Statement For The Black Warrior River...

.Recent heavy rainfall has resulted in rises along the Black Warrior
River. The Oliver Lock and Dam river point is in the process of
falling but remain within action stage. Any overflow along the river
should be of minor nature.


The Black Warrior River at Oliver Lock and Dam.
* At 7:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 124.8 feet.
* Action stage is 122.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 129.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to fall below action stage
  tomorrow morning.
* Impact...At 122.0 feet...Cattle in low lands begin to be cut off
  and may need to be moved to higher ground.


Another statement will be issued by Wednesday evening, or sooner if
conditions warrant.

Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather radio or your local media for later
statements concerning this event.

It is emphasized that these forecasts are based on rainfall that has
already occurred and on additional rainfall expected during the next
48 hours.  If more rainfall than is currently forecast occurs it may
become necessary to revise these forecasts upward.
