...River Statement For The Elk River near Fayetteville...

Runoff from rainfall caused river levels to rise rapidly on the Elk
River, but it has since crested and river levels are now falling.
Although it is not expected to reach flood stage, some nuisance
flooding of lowlands may still occur.

The Elk River at Fayetteville.
* At 2:15 AM CDT Monday the stage was 15.0 feet.
* Action stage is 14.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.5 feet.
* Forecast...The river has crested and will continue to fall,
  potentially falling below action stage later this morning.
* Impact...At 17.5 feet...Bottomland along the river begins to flood.

All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property from rising river levels.Additional information is
