Low temperatures overnight will range from the mid 40s across the southern Poconos to the low 60s along Lake Erie. Clouds will be on the increase Tuesday ahead of showers and thunderstorms. Precipitation will begin across western Pennsylvania during the late morning hours then gradually overspread the remainder of the Commonwealth by Tuesday evening. Severe thunderstorms will be possible across the western half of Pennsylvania during the afternoon and evening hours. Damaging winds and large hail will be the primary severe threats. High temperatures on Tuesday will be in the upper 70s to low 80s. Scattered showers will linger across southwest Pennsylvania into early Wednesday. Afternoon and evening thunderstorms will again be possible Thursday and Friday, statewide. Temperatures towards the end of the week are expected to trend closer to seasonal averages for the beginning of May. $$
