NZUS91 KBOX 011854 LLLBOX CTZ002>004-MAZ002>024-026-RIZ001>008-020654- Public Information Statement National Weather Service Boston/Norton MA 254 PM EDT Sun Jun 1 2025 Long Term Mild and dry Tuesday Hot and humid conditions Thursday and Friday Conditions expected to become more unsettled from Thursday through Saturday. The upper-level trough moves offshore Tuesday morning with a shortwave ridge building in behind it. The shortwave ridge will usher in a period of more summer-like weather this week, as 850 mb temperatures rise from 6 °C on Tuesday to 16 °C by Thursday. High temperatures on Tuesday will warm into the upper 70s, with a few low 80s possible. The real heat arrives on Wednesday and Thursday, with both days expected to be in the upper 80s to lower 90s. The best chance for temperatures above 90°F appears to be Thursday, as NBM (QMD) probabilities for 90°F are 70-95%. The warmest spots will likely be the CT and Merrimack Valleys, where there are low probs, around 10-20%, for 98+. Dewpoints remain comfortable on Tuesday in the 40s but increase to the mid-to-upper 50s on Wednesday, then to the low to mid-60s on Thursday. Friday cools off slightly, but highs remain in the mid-to-upper 80s, with dewpoints still in the mid-60s. As for precipitation this week, the upper-level ridge will suppress precipitation chances until late in the week. The Ridge begins to dampen on Thursday, and the flow aloft becomes more zonal, allowing for several weak waves of energy to pass through. The timing of the features is rather uncertain and will likely change, but the first wave appears to move through sometime late Thursday, accompanied by a weak cold front. The next wave may be slightly stronger as it exits the Great Lakes sometime between Friday evening and Saturday evening. Unfortunately, this means rain and thunderstorm chances will continue to increase from Friday night through Saturday, continuing our wet weekend trend. $$
