During the time of this update, forecast and warning operations will be conducted by our service back-up office in Northern Indiana (KIWX) to minimize any potential interruption to services. No impacts to our core services of forecast products and weather watches, warnings and advisories are expected during this period. The KIND radar will remain operational and its products will continue to be distributed as normal. The NWS Indianapolis office will remain open and staffed throughout this update period to help support the NWS Northern Indiana office, answer public and partner phone calls, and complete additional functions that can be done locally. However, impacts will occur to the NOAA Weather Radio transmitters that are maintained by the NWS Indianapolis office and serve central Indiana. Beginning around 8 AM on Monday, April 28th, this radio station, as well as all of the 9 NOAA Weather Radio broadcasts provided by the NWS Indianapolis office will go offline for the duration of this update. These transmitters include Indianapolis, Bloomington, Putnamville, Monticello, Georgia, Edwardsport, Newport, Seymour, and Muncie. NOAA Weather broadcasts are expected to return to service sometime on Wednesday, April 30th. During periods of planned or unplanned outages it is important to have multiple ways to receive warning information. These alternative sources include: local television/radio, weather apps on your mobile device such as FEMA, Red Cross or a reliable local weather source, and on the NWS Indianapolis website. Any questions can be sent to Warning Coordination Meteorologist Sam Lashley at Sam.Lashley@noaa.gov ### $$
