...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 915 PM PDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of North Idaho, including the following county, 
  Kootenai.

* WHEN...Until 915 PM PDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. The 
  Ridge Creek Burn Scar is within this Flood Advisory and has seen 
  similar rainfall amounts.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 725 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    mainly rural areas of Northeastern Kootenai County, and the
    Ridge Creek Burn Scar.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are 
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded 
roads. Find an alternate route.
