Weather Summary for Upper Mississippi River Valley
National Weather Service La Crosse WI
1030 AM CDT Sat Sep 30 2017

Cool and dry Canadian high pressure continued to settle into the
Upper Midwest during the overnight hours. Near the center of the
high, light winds and generally clear skies were allowing patchy fog
and patchy frost to develop across Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota.
Overnight low temperatures were generally in the 60s region wide.

The high is going to move rather quickly east today, but maintain
its influence on the region. A mostly sunny, dry and seasonal day
is expected. Highs are going to range from the 60s over much of
Minnesota and Wisconsin, to the mid 70s across southern Iowa.

Low pressure is going to move into the northern plains tonight.
Ahead of this low, scattered showers will spread across the
northwest half of the region, especially by later tonight. Under
more clouds and with some south winds, it will be a warmer night
with lows ranging from the 40s across the east half of the region
to the lower and mid 50s across much of Minnesota and Iowa.

Looking ahead, scattered showers with a few afternoon thunderstorms
are going to continue over the northwest half of the region on
Sunday. Highs Sunday will mainly be in the 60s to mid 70s.
