...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM CDT THIS 
EVENING FOR CLARKE, JASPER, KEMPER, LAUDERDALE, SOUTHEASTERN 
NESHOBA, NEWTON, EASTERN COVINGTON AND JONES COUNTIES...

At 517 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across much of the warned area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain 
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are 
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring 
with water up to a foot covering some highways.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Meridian, Laurel, Philadelphia, Ellisville, Newton, Quitman, 
  Union, Decatur, Bay Springs, De Kalb, Collinsville, Marion, 
  Conehatta, Nellieburg, Stonewall, Toomsuba, Scooba, Sandersville, 
  Heidelberg and Tucker.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.
