The National Weather Service in The Twin Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Redwood County in southwestern Minnesota...
  Southeastern Yellow Medicine County in west central Minnesota...
  Southern Renville County in central Minnesota...

* Until 730 AM CDT.

* At 431 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding and 
  mudslides resulting in the closure of portions of Minnesota 
  Highway 19 in and around the town of Morton. 2-4 inches of rain 
  has fallen over the warned area in the last three hours, with 
  light to moderate rain expected to continue for the next few 
  hours. Additional areas of flash flooding are possible within the 
  warned area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Redwood Falls, Fairfax, Walnut Grove, Lamberton, Wabasso, Franklin,
  Wood Lake, Morton, Echo, Belview, Vesta and Milroy.

Excessive rainfall over the warned area will cause mud slides near
steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and
other loose materials.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
