The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Athens County in southeastern Ohio...
  North Central Meigs County in southeastern Ohio...

* Until 545 AM EDT.

* At 242 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers and thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 
  inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 
  2.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is 
  ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rainfall.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Athens, Albany and Stroud Run State Park.

  Leading Creek, Jordan Run, Miller Run, Hocking River, North Branch 
  Margaret Creek, Sharps Run, Guthrie Creek, Federal Creek, Wyatt 
  Run, Pratts Fork, Biddle Creek, Piper Run, Margaret Creek, Strouds 
  Run, Mush Run, Ogden Run, Hewett Fork, Middle Branch Shade River, 
  Tiger Run, North Branch, East Branch Shade River, West Branch 
  Shade River, Mud Fork, Bryson Branch, Cherry Creek, Willow Creek, 
  Onion Creek and Raccoon Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll 
free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
