The National Weather Service in Aberdeen has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Eastern Edmunds County in north central South Dakota...
  Northern Faulk County in north central South Dakota...

* Until 1130 PM CDT.

* At 736 PM CDT, Emergency Management in Edmunds County reported 
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across and near the warned 
  area. Ditches are reported full and some area roads have been 
  overtopped with water. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches 
  in 2 hours. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are 
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected 
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Ipswich, Cresbard, Seneca, Chelsea, Onaka, Blumengard Colony, 
  Norbeck, Loyalton, Pembrook Colony, Brentwood Colony, Cravens 
  Corner, North Scatterwood Lake and South Scatterwood Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
