The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southeastern Bastrop County in south central Texas...
  Fayette County in south central Texas...

* Until 1045 PM CDT.

* At 841 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 
  2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 
  1 inch in 2 hours. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches 
  are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or 
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  La Grange, Smithville, Fayetteville, Muldoon, Cistern, Rosanky, 
  Plum, O'Quinn, West Point, Rabbs Prairie, Winchester, Swiss Alp, 
  Freyburg, Kirtley, Ammannsville, Floy, Mullins Prairie, High Hill, 
  Rutersville and Holman.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
