* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southeastern Hockley County in northwestern Texas...
  Lubbock County in northwestern Texas...
  Lynn County in northwestern Texas...
  Eastern Terry County in northwestern Texas...

* Until 300 AM CDT.

* At 1252 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. The expected rainfall rate is 1 
  to 3 inches per hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to 
  begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and West Texas Mesonet.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Lubbock, Brownfield, Slaton, Tahoka, Wolfforth, Idalou, Ransom 
  Canyon, O'Donnell, Slide, Woodrow, Lubbock South Plains Mall, New 
  Moore, Texas Tech University, Downtown Lubbock, Reese Center, 
  Lubbock International Airport, Grassland, Meadow, Wilson and Smyer.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is 
harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
