...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 445 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of east central Georgia, including the following 
  counties, Columbia and Richmond.

* WHEN...Until 445 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is 
  imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 348 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    North Augusta, Evans, Martinez, Village Plaza Shopping
    Center, Augusta Mall, Augusta National Golf Club,
    Summerville, Waverly, Westwick, Windy Ridge Estates, Forest
    Hills, Westover Memorial Park, Westmont, Village at
    Riverwatch Shopping Center, Blanchard Park, Eisenhower Park,
    Bellevue Memorial Gardens and Savannah Bluffs Heritage
    Preserve.
  - This includes the following highways...
    Interstate 20 in Georgia between mile markers 192 and 201.
    Interstate 520 in Georgia between mile markers 1 and 2.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a 
flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown.
