...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central South Carolina, including the 
  following counties, Calhoun, Clarendon, Orangeburg, Richland and 
  Sumter.

* WHEN...Until 730 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 421 PM EDT, Numerous slow moving showers and thunderstorms
    producing heavy rainfall have been indicated by doppler
    radar. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly
    in the advisory area.  Up to 2 inches of rainfall has already
    fallen in some areas, with additional rainfall expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Sumter, Orangeburg, Manning, South Sumter, Brookdale, St.
    Matthews, Summerton, Eastover, Elloree, Santee State Park,
    Poinsett State Park, Alcolu, Santee Cooper Regional Airport,
    Millwood, Mulberry, Gadsden,  South Carolina State
    University, Orangeburg County Airport and Edisto Gardens.
  - This includes the following highways...
    Interstate 95 between mile markers 91 and 137.
    Interstate 26 between mile markers 139 and 159.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a 
flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown.
