...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central South Carolina, including the 
  following counties, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lancaster and Richland.

* WHEN...Until 900 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 550 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Columbia, Forest Acres, Camden, Lake Wateree Dam, Dentsville,
    Kershaw, Elgin, Arcadia Lakes, Heath Springs, Longtown,
    Lugoff, Liberty Hill, Westville, Lake Wateree State Park,
    Goodale State Park, Lake Carolina, Villages at Sandhill,
    Cassatt and Killian.
  - This includes the following highways...
    Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 68 and
    98.
    Interstate 77 between mile markers 16 and 36.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a 
flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown.
