...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central South Carolina, including the 
  following counties, Lexington, Newberry, Richland and Saluda.

* WHEN...Until 500 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 203 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
    Columbia, Lexington, West Columbia, Cayce, Irmo, Forest
    Acres, Batesburg-Leesville, Springdale, Highway 6 at Lake
    Murray Dam, Red Bank, Oak Grove, St. Andrews, Dentsville,
    Saluda, South Congaree, Pine Ridge, Arcadia Lakes, Dreher
    Island State Park, Ballentine and Harbison State Forest.
  - This includes the following highways...
    Interstate 126 between mile markers 0 and 3.
    Interstate 26 between mile markers 93 and 120.
    Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 42 and
    76.
    Interstate 77 between mile markers 0 and 19.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a 
flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown.
