...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central, southwest, and west central 
  Virginia, including the following counties and independent cities, 
  in south central Virginia, City of Martinsville and Henry. In 
  southwest Virginia, Carroll, City of Galax, Floyd, Grayson and 
  Patrick. In west central Virginia, Franklin.

* WHEN...Until 1000 AM EST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 732 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor
    flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the
    advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain may result in minor
    flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather
