...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN MONTEREY AND WEST 
CENTRAL SAN BENITO COUNTIES UNTIL 815 PM PDT...

At 751 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over 
Prunedale, or 7 miles north of Salinas, moving southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
  Salinas, Boronda and Prunedale.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening 
weather conditions.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. 
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe 
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Storms will be capable of producing large quantities of accumulating 
hail. This may result in slick and hazardous driving conditions. 
Slow down and use caution if driving.
