...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT CENTRAL MCDOWELL...SOUTHEASTERN
MITCHELL...NORTH CENTRAL BUNCOMBE AND CENTRAL YANCEY COUNTIES THROUGH
745 PM EDT...

At 722 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Burnsville, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is 
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
North Cove, B.R. Parkway-Little Switzerland To Linville, Busick,
Micaville, Burnsville, Celo, Ashford, Mount Mitchell State Park,
Spruce Pine, and Little Switzerland.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
