...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN JIM HOGG...
NORTHWESTERN STARR AND SOUTHEASTERN ZAPATA COUNTIES THROUGH 1245 AM
CDT...

At 1201 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Zapata County Fire Department, or near Zapata, moving southeast at 30
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
New Falcon, Guerra, Falcon Dam, Morales-Sanchez, Salineno, Falcon
Heights, Falcon State Park, Lopeno, Bustamante, and Siesta Shores.

This includes US Highway 83 between mile markers 770 and 798.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

If on or near Falcon Lake, get out of the water and move indoors or 
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles 
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close 
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not 
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
this storm passes.
